Tijuana, Baja California-.

TIJUANA (July 27, 2019) –Oscar Pareja smiled when asked the question.

What did you tell your players after a match like this one?

That’s what the Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles manager was asked about
his team playing to a fluid brand of soccer with a handful of scoring
chances but ending in a tie.

“The first thing that I told them after the game was congratulations
for a great effort and or a good game, especially in the first half,”
Pareja said. “We came out with a lot of dynamics and the team showed
great stuff relating to the game we wanted to play.”

The Xoloitzcuintles played with a furious attack to begin the game. It
pressured visiting Queretaro in the LIGA MX 2019 Apertura Week 2 match.
It eventually found the net in the 37th minute with a Washington Camacho
goal, his second of the season. Queretaro answered it with an early
second half goal by Jordan Sierra via a penalty kick.

But despite the result, Pareja was pleased with his players’ effort
against the Gallos Blancos.

“Nobody is disappointed with the result and it could be in our favor,”
Pareja said. “We’re proud of the way we played. We are adding (points)
and I think the guys should be content with what they put on the field.”

The Xoloitzcuintles are 1-0-1 with four points after two games. Pareja
highlighted the fact that his ream is resilient on the pitch and that it
has a bond in the locker room.

“I am very proud of this group and how they’ve come together,” Pareja
said. “I happy that we have a very good locker room. I am excited about
what this group is capable of doing.”

The Xoloitzcuintles will next host Queretaro but this time in the Copa
MX Tuesday July 30 at Estadio Caliente. It returns to LIGA MX action
Saturday Aug. 3 with a Week 3 match against Club America at Estadio
Azteca in Mexico City.
