CLUB TIJUANA 3-2 CRUZ AZUL

Tijuana, Baja California._ El Club Tijuana
consiguió un gran triunfo (3-2) ante el Cruz Azul, tras jugarse este
miércoles la Fecha 7 del Torneo Apertura 2019 de la LIGA MX en la cancha
del Estadio Caliente.

El equipo Xoloitzcuintle vino de atrás en el encuentro para sumar los
tres puntos en este jornada, después que el equipo capitalino se
adelantó en el marcador en el minuto 6 por conducto de Pablo César
Aguilar. Los Rojinegros igualaron el duelo al 18′ por medio de Julián
Velázquez, quien marcó su primer gol como Xoloitzcuintle.

Antes del descanso del primer tiempo, el Cruz Azul tomó la ventaja de
nuevo por medio de Víctor Yotun, quien cobró un penal a favor para el
1-2 parcial.

En el complemento, los Xoloitzcuintles apretaron a fondo y le dieron la
vuelta al encuentro. Kevin Balanta empató con el 2-2 al 62′. Después, en
un cierre dramático, Erick “Cubo” Torres aprovechó un balón que ganó
Washington Camacho en el área visitante, y el delantero mexicano logró
un gol de alarido para dejar 3-2 los cartones de manera definitiva.

Ahora los Xoloitzcuintles cuentan con 10 puntos en la tabla general y
se meten de lleno en la pelea por un sitio entre los primeros ocho
lugares del campeonato. El equipo dirigido por Óscar Pareja se
mentalizará ahora en el siguiente compromiso del certamen, en el que
visitarán al Club Necaxa en la Fecha 8 del torneo.

Xoloitzcuintles find late goal to beat Cruz Azul

TIJUANA (Aug. 28, 2019) –Erick Torres scored in injury time to help
Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles to a 3-2 win against visiting Cruz Azul
Wednesday night at Estadio Caliente.

Torres took a low pass inside the penalty box and fired it past Cruz
Azul goalkeeper Jose Corona to seal a come-from behind win. Julian
Velazquez and Kevin Balanta also scored for coach Oscar Pareja’s team.
The Xoloitzcunitles improve to 3-2-1 with 10 points in the standings
after the Week 7 match.

Cruz Azul took the early lead when Pablo Aguilar charged a free kick
into the penalty area and connected, sending it past Club Tijuana
goalkeeper Gibran Lajud six minutes into the match. Aguilar was wide
open on his charge towards goal.

Club Tijuana answered with a goal of its own, also via a header. Julian
Velazquez sent in a Miller Bolaños free kick from just outside the right
side of the penalty box in the 18th.

Cruz Azul took the lead again when Victor Yotun converted a penalty
kick, volleying past Lajud in the 27th. The Xoloitzcuintles were
whistled for the penalty kick when the ball hit defender Diego
Braghieri’s arm. Referee Jose Soto reviewed the play using the Video
Assistant Referee (VAR) and confirmed the penalty kick.

The Xoloitzcuintles tied the match when Kevin Balanta fired a
right-footed shot that deflected off someone in the penalty box and went
into the net in the 62nd minute. It was Balanta’s first goal in Mexican
soccer as well as it was for Velazquez.

Club Tijuana began the second half sending its lines up field with more
space. Cruz Azul finished with 10 men after Adrian Aldrete was sent off
in the 55th. That’s when Pareja’s team came out looking for the win and
found Torres’ game winner.

The Xoloitzcuintles will now travel to Aguascalientes to face Necaxa in
a Week 8 match Saturday Sept. 1.
