Tijuana, Baja California, 3 de julio de 2018._ El Club Tijuana igualó a
un tanto ante los Pumas de la UNAM en su segundo duelo amistoso en de
pretemporada, el primero disputado en el Estadio Caliente.

Al minuto 10, el árbitro señaló la pena máxima. Martín Lucero cobró
desde los 11 pasos pero el arquero Alfredo Saldívar logró contener el
disparo.

El marcador se abrió al 18’, cuando Luis Chávez cobró un tiro libre
para enviar el esférico al fondo. Pumas igualó el encuentro al 62’ con
anotación de Carlos González. El partido concluyó 1-1.

Para el tercer duelo de pretemporada, los Xoloitzcuintles recibirán al
CS Herediano el próximo sábado 7 de julio en el Estadio Caliente.

CLUB TIJUANA TIES IN SECOND PRESEASON MATCH

Xoloitzcuintles 1-1 Pumas, Chavez scores on free kick

TIJUANA (July 3, 2018) –Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles played to a 1-1
tie against visiting Pumas UNAM in a preseason match Tuesday at Estadio
Caliente.

Luis Chavez and Carlos Gonzalez scored in the friendly match that
served as preparation for the upcoming LIGA MX 2018 Apertura season.

The Xoloitzcuintles took the 1-0 lead in the 18th minute when Chavez
buried a ball inside the right post with his left foot. The midfielder
fired a free kick from about 20-yards out past Pumas goalkeeper Alfredo
Saldivar.

Pumas tied the match in the 62nd minute when Gonzalez took a ball from
the left side and fired. Xoloitzcuintles goalkeeper Luis Mitchel could
not reach it diving to his left. Tie game 1-1.

Club Tijuana had an early chance when Martin Lucero was taken down in
the penalty box. The Xoloitzcuintles were set to take the penalty kick.
Lucero fired the shot but it was blocked by Saldivar.

It was coach Diego Cocca’s second friendly match this offseason and its
first on the newly installed turf field at Estadio Caliente.

Club Tijuana was coming off a scoreless tie against Cruz Azul June 30
in Irvine, Calif. The Xoloitzcuintles will now face Herediano of Costa
Rica in its next preseason match at home Saturday July 7. Cocca’s team
will then travel to Sacramento for a preseason match against Monarcas
Morelia July 11 and ends the preseason with a home match against Dorados
de Sinalos (July 14).
